Halo reach rating system
After countless of quetions i got on my youtube channel, i desided to post a tutorial about the arena rating system in Halo reach.
The first thing you’ll notice when you enter a lobby, is that some people have 0,1,2 or 3 white bars and some others a number. Those bars indicate the amount of games you’ve played. The number indicates which rating you have. sounds confusing?? I’ll break it down for you.
To get a rating you need to play 4 games in the arena. In those 4 games you’ll get an idividual rating. to get your daily rating they get the average of those four games. this rating will be between the minimum of 0 and the maximum of 2000.
Every game you start with a score of 1000. this will go up and down in the progress of the game. to get it up you’ll need to get kills OR assists. to get it down you’ll have to die a lot of times. why a lot? well because a kill is worth 3 times as much as a death. and an assist 2 times. this is beause of the fact that halo is a more cooperative game instead of a lone wolf game. you’ll get better scores if you work together. for example: you’re alone and encounter 2 average good players of the opposite team, (before everybody start bitching that they’ll own those 2 easily, both have dmr and good a good aim) the chance you win against to average opponents at the same time is very slim. but f you work together with a teammate your chance fairly increases and you’ll have a chance to get 2 kills, 1 kill 1ssist or 2 assists. this means our rating goes up. also if you die it doens’t matter beacaue a death is only worth 1/3 of a kill. so if you die and your mate shoots the others means you got 2 assists (saying you hit them both) which means you’ll get 4 points up and 1 down. which means your rating goes up.
to maximize this chance it’s best to play with a friend who’s almost as good (or better) then you’re. if you don’t have that kind of friends, search in the game for your number 1 in your team and stick with him. so you both get the advantage of the kills and assists.
so this is al about the rating system in game, but what about the rating outside the game. well first there is your daily rating, but to get in a division you’ll have to play more games then the 4 you just did. to get into a division you’ll have to play 5 days. every day you need to play 4 games. which comes down to 20 games. over those 5 days you’ll get an average, this average will be your rating and that decides in which division you’ll get.
a division is an aranged match of only people who have around the same score. let’s take my score for example (1600) i’ll only encounter people in my division between 1500 and 1700. this gives a good balance in the games. and based on the ratings the team will be fairly split so both teams have stron (1700), average (1600) and weak (1500). a score of 1500 is very good and hard to get (so please do not cry about it because you get in an high division where you are the weakest and i’m not saying that people with a 1500 score are bad).
i hope you’ve a better view of how things work in the arena ratings system. i hope you liked it and post for more post about xbox games.
SCEE’s Identity Theft Protection Offering
Both Kazuo Hirai and Sir Howard Stringer have stated that we will be offering identity theft protection for those affected by the malicious attack on PlayStation Network and many of you may have seen the details of the service available in North America. As I have explained previously, creating a similar offering for the many countries within the SCEE region is a very complicated process. Each country has a different way of handling identity theft; some offer relatively sophisticated services whilst others are much more modest. We are currently in the process of identifying how we manage this situation and once the programme is ready to launch, we will provide details of exactly which services are available in each country and explain how to sign up. We hope to do this early next week. Also, look out for more information on the rest of our Welcome Back programme, including which free content you will be eligible for. We will be offering PSN users the opportunity to select two PS3 games from a list of five, as well as offering PSP users the opportunity to choose two games from a list of four. We will let you know exactly what games are available very soon. Please be assured that we are continuing to work around the clock to have some PlayStation Network and Qriocity services restored and will provide you with specific details shortly.
